Grants & Special Projects Department

The primary function of the Grants & Special Projects Department (GSPD) is to assist City Departments and the City’s non-profit partner organization in meeting our City’s Mission and Vision to better serve the residents of Socorro, Texas. 

The GSPD fosters development and collaboration between the Local Government, Community and Business Sectors in Socorro, Texas via the following department goals:

  • Local Government project development and funding support
  • Economic Development program development and support
  • Non-profit sector development and support

Special projects

The Grants & Special Projects Department (GSPD) also provides support for a number of Special Projects, including: 

Assistance Programs for Socorro Community Members

Housing assistance (rental & mortgage assistance, home rehabilitation)

Utility Bill Assistance Providers

Health and Mental Health Providers and Assistance Programs
