special events
The City of Socorro has a population just over 35,000 as estimated since the growth of the 2010 Census. Since it is re-incorporation in 1986 the City of Socorro has grown in community & opportunities. As part of the City’s Quality of Life strategies, the City’s special events include strategies for bringing new & existing residents together under the shared leadership of the City Council. The special events team actively works together with partnering sponsors, organizations, agencies, businesses, and vendors to consistently push the boundaries of what is capable of providing the community with a wide array of experiences to build on family memories. By City Policy, absolutely no campaigning or campaign propaganda are allowed onto City Events.
The City of Socorro is preparing for our annual Easter Eggstravaganza & Color Run! Race Packets are now available for purchase on a first come first serve basis. We have an online store linked below or you can come in person to pay.
Registration forms will be required per person & must be submitted prior or at the time of pick up to receive your packet. Please call (915) 860-8615 for more information or e-mail Hello@costx.us
The City of Socorro is not only happy to coordinate public events, but also participate in your special ones as well! Below are links to vendor applications, parade applications, career day requests, and special appearance invitations.

farmer's market
Nestled among pecan trees, cotton fields, and agricultural landscaping lies the beautiful oasis of country scenery minutes away from the hustle of the big city- welcome to the City of Socorro, Texas! Close enough to be modern, yet still quaint enough to be artisanal; the City of Socorro’s Farmer’s Market is filled with wholesome produce, creative tinctures, and artisanal products to tickle everyone’s fancy. Once a barren field, the market has grown with the city and turned a vacant field into a hub for farm-to-table luxuries.
Join our Socorro Sunday Farmer’s Market every first Sunday of the Month, vendors are always welcome!
