Socorro Small Business Networking Event a Success

HOLIDAY THEMED SMALL BUSINESS MEETING HELD AT MOONLIGHT ADOBE HALL –

This month’s small business community meeting brought a holiday spirit with it on Dec. 13, 2022.  The meeting was opened by Mayor Ivy Avalos welcoming all in attendance, followed by District 3 Representative Rudy Cruz and At-Large Representative Ruben Reyes, who provided additional remarks on the important role that small businesses play in our community and thanking them for their participation.

A slideshow highlighting and recognizing Socorro’s economic recovery resource partners, and thanking business sponsors and hosts of events held during the year was showing during the event.  Click HERE to view the slideshow.

The evening was highlighted with a group photo that brought more joy and camaraderie among those present.

Resource partners present, including Contract Opportunities Center of El Paso, LiftFund, El Paso Collaborative, its affiliate Project Vida, and the El Paso Small Business Administration, were recognized with a certificate of appreciation for their enduring support to Socorro’s small business and entrepreneur community.

Certificates of appreciation were also presented to various businesses such as Café Cocol, Three Missions Brewery, The Dusty Tap, El Crucero Mexican Grill, and Moonlight Adobe Hall for hosting a meeting or SOCO Breakfast during the year.  Also recognized were several businesses such as Enrique Cisneros Insurance, El Paso Electric, T&T Staff Management, and Texas Gas Service which supported the small business & entrepreneurial community by sponsoring an event. Thank you sponsors and hosts!

This meeting was also the launch of the City’s Small Business Recovery Grants Program, which will be administered by the El Paso Collaborative (EPC). Staff from EPC handed out flyers in both English and Spanish for those present on how to apply to this grant program.  You can learn how to apply by joining the Socorro Business Hub using the QR Code below.
