ICYMI: Third Small Business Meeting held at Three Missions Brewery

Third small business meeting featured presentations by TABC and City Planner.

This month’s Small Business Support meeting was held at Three Missions Brewery on June 6, 2022. This is the third monthly Small Business Support meeting held in Socorro with the goal of bringing relevant business news, presenters, and resources to local business owners and entrepreneurs.

Mayor Ivy Avalos gave her opening remarks highlighting the important role that our small businesses play in revitalizing our community.

Thank you to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) for providing a brief presentation about the alcohol permitting process, their new AIMS system, and answering questions from small business owners. Click 👉🏽 HERE to view the presentation slides.

City of Socorro Planning and Zoning Director, Carlos Gallinar, also provided a brief presentation about the City’s Zoning and Subdivision ordinances, and shared resources with small businesses available on our new City website. Click 👉🏽 HERE to visit the Planning and Zoning Department webpage.

Small businesses also networked with local resource partners including the EPCC Workforce and Continuing Education Office, the EPCC Contract Opportunities Center, and the Prairie View A&M University Cooperative Extension Office Community and Economic Development Unit, all of which provide small business support services, technical assistance, and training.

Special thanks to Three Missions Brewery for hosting this meeting. We encourage everyone to visit Socorro’s first-ever brewery featuring historic Pueblo-colonial architecture and located right on our Historic Mission Trail.
